Aviation is one of the fastest growing areas of technology there has ever been. Through the combined efforts of government and private firms we’ve been able to go from the Wright Brothers bi-plane to the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The new aircraft from Boeing is set to make an appearance at the 2015 Paris air show but we’re getting a sneak peak at what this new beast can do. Boeing published a YouTube video that doesn’t waste any time showing the 787-9 in a near vertical takeoff. Don’t believe me? Check out the video for yourself below.

That’s some pretty impressive power! Boeing is keeping their lips sealed at the actual angle of takeoff but from the video it sure looks pretty vertical to us. While the aircraft is capable of such a takeoff doesn’t mean that it will actually takeoff this way once in service. Although it would be interesting to know what kind of g-force passengers would be experiencing on such a takeoff. Even if you never experience this near vertical takeoff it is awesome to watch this on video.
