A David Gilmour Tour In North America Might Happen 2016

A David Gilmour tour in North America next year? Could it be the truth? According to Consequence Of Sound, Sir David himself revealed the news at a Q&A session at the Borris House Festival of Writing and Ideas in Ireland. There is apparently a witness to this announcement who confirms the validity of the statement.

The publication (Consequence Of Sound) has pointed out that someone from the monthly Pink Floyd fan podcast Brain Damage attended the event, where Gilmour revealed that he plans to hit the road on this side of the pond next year.

Gilmour also revealed the title of his upcoming solo album, his last being the ever so awesome On An Island, which is being called Rattle That Lock. Gilmour even performed two cuts off the album at the festival. All that aside, this is amazing news for any Pink Floyd/David Gilmour fan. Usually Gilmour performs at least a few Pink Floyd classics and during his last solo tour he even did some deep cuts. It’s no secret that I am a huge David Gilmour fan and given that the man is aging (albeit aging nicely) I didn’t think that he would be touring anywhere outside of Europe. So this is amazing news to my ears and welcome because as much of a fan as I am, I have never seen him in concert. So this will be an event I must and will catch. How about you? Is a David Gilmour solo tour something you’d go see? Let us know in the comments below or on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.
