To mark the 10 year anniversary of the Forza Motorsport series developed by Microsoft’s own Turn 10 Studios, the company announced that they will be releasing a Limited Edition Xbox One console for the release of Forza Motorsport 6. The console will be skinned to be different than the standard black Xbox One, will come with a matching skinned controller, and will also include a 1TB hard drive for $399. Of course you will be getting a digital copy of Forza Motorsport 6 so you can jump right into the driver’s seat when you hook up the Xbox; after you download it that is.
This will be the first Xbox console with a racing theme and will include custom automotive sound effects with it as well. If you want to get in on the racing themed Xbox One you can already preorder this Limited Edition console at Microsoft Stores or other select retailers. It will be released at the same time of Forza Motorsport 6 which will be this fall on the 15th of September.
Forza Motorsport 6 will include over 450 cars, 26 famous tracks from all over the world, and will let you race with 24 people. You will also be able to choose time of day and whether you want the weather to be clear or raining; something that was missing from the last game in the series, but was added to Forza Horizon 2.
I enjoy the Forza series and will probably pick up the game but for buying a Limited Edition console I still would like a little bit more than just a skin redesign. I’m not sure how practical it would be to produce but how awesome would a Forza Motorsport 6 console be if they were able to redesign the form factor of the system to be that of a Ford GT since that is the cover car this time. That’d be something I would probably pick up.
Will you be picking up this Limited Edition Xbox One or would you like to see something more from a limited console?
