Along with the new Moto G, Motorola announced two new Moto X models today, the Moto X Style and the Moto X Play. The Moto X Style is Motorola’s latest flagship while the Moto X Play combines great specs with a reasonable price.
The Moto X Style sports a 5.7 inch quad HD display, which works out to 515 PPI. It is powered by the hexa-core Snapdragon 808 which can be found in the LG G4. It’s got 3GB of RAM onboard and comes in three storage options – 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The Moto X Play, on the other hand, makes do with a 5.5 inch full HD display and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Snapdragon 615. It’s got “only” 2GB of RAM and has two internal storage options – 16GB and 32GB. Both phones support microSD cards of up to 128GB.
Both the Moto X Style and Moto X Play have a 21MP rear facing camera with dual LED flash. Motorola describes this camera as the “best in class.” The Moto X Style has a wide angle 5MP front facing camera with front facing flash, while the Moto X Play makes do with a regular 5MP front facing camera.

The Moto X Style has a 3,000mAh battery, which some may feel is too small, though it remains to be seen how good it is in day to day use. The Moto X Play has a beefier 3,630mAh battery which should last a lot longer, especially since it has a full HD display, as opposed to the quad HD display found on the Moto X Style.
There is also a Pure Edition of the Moto X Style. This variant will be unlocked and it’ll have stock Android. It also boasts universal LTE, which means it can be used with any carrier in the USA.

Both phones can be customised using Motorola’s popular Moto Maker tool. Motorola hasn’t released the pricing of either phone, though the Moto X Style will be priced “$200 to $300″ less than competing phones, while the Moto X Play will be priced $300 – $400” less than its rivals. The Moto X Style Pure Edition can be had for $399. Regional availability hasn’t been disclosed entirely, though we know that the Moto X Play won’t make it to the USA.
