Marvel’s Most Wanted May Soon Join Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in ABC’s Marvel Lineup

According to an exclusive from Variety magazine, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may soon have some more comic-book-hero company on ABC. Mockingbird, the rumored spinoff that ABC nixed a few months ago, appears to have come back from the recycle bin as Marvel’s Most Wanted, starring Adrianne Palicki (Bobbi Morse/Mockingbird from AoS) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter). If you’re unfamiliar with Mockingbird from the Marvel universe, you can learn more about the character (as seen in the comic books) from Wikipedia.

Wikipedia lists her abilities as follows:

  • Genius biologist
  • Superbly trained athlete, gymnast, unarmed combatant and spy
  • Expert with Battle-stave weapon
  • Greatly enhanced strength and agility

Apparently the show will focus entirely on the adventures of Morse and Hunter, but ABC has given no indication of a premiere date or whether it will be introduced through an episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. There is also very little information available about the plot or cast, other than the two headlining actors already mentioned. Personally, I hope the Inhumans play a role, but I imagine they’ll be confined to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

It’ll be interesting to see how another Marvel Comics series focused on heroes without superpowers will fare in the wake of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s and Agent Carter‘s successes. Incidentally, there’s word of yet another secret project in the works for ABC’s sector of the Marvel universe. We’ll keep you posted on anything more we learn about this ‘classified’ project and on Marvel’s Most Wanted.
