Rock Band 4 Standalone Pre-Orders, Additional Tracks Announced

Harmonix and Mad Catz have finally announced the pricing and availability of a standalone version of the upcoming Rock Band 4 after announcing the game and instrument bundles back in March. The standalone version comes with the game and more than 60 tracks and will cost $59.99/£49.99/69.99€ on the PlayStation 4 and $79.99/£69.99/89.99€ on the Xbox One.

“By offering game-only options and supporting seamless compatibility with previous-generation music game controllers, we’re thrilled to be offering the best value for longtime music gaming fans this holiday,” said Harmonix CEO, Steve Janiak.

Why $20/£20/20€ more on the Xbox One? That version also comes with the Legacy Game Controller Adapter that enables gamers to use most previous-generation Xbox 360 Rock Band wireless guitars and drums. Take note, this supports wireless instruments from past version only so if you have a stash of wired peripherals you’ll be out of luck. The adapter supports up to four wireless Rock Band or third party controllers simultaneously. Rock Band 4 for the PlayStation 4 on the other hand supports most legacy Rock Band and third party wireless guitars and drums with no additional hardware.

Some additional tracks for the game were also announced including:

  • Arctic Monkeys – “Arabella”
  • The Both – “Milwaukee”
  • Cake – “Short Skirt/Long Jacket”
  • Little Big Town – “Little White Church”
  • Lucius – “Turn It Around”
  • The Mighty Mighty Bosstones – “The Impression That I Get”
  • The Protomen – “Light Up The Night”
  • Soundgarden – “Superunknown”
  • Tijuana Sweetheart – “Pistol Whipped”

These tracks join the list of previously announced tracks and are part of over 1500 songs that will be available through the in-game Music Store or imported from previously purchased Rock Band songs.

What do you think about the standalone pricing? Are you going to be picking this up or one of the instrument bundles? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
