Official “The Taken King” Cinematic Trailer Builds Up Destiny Story

Just ahead of next week’s launch of “The Taken King” DLC for Bungie’s Destiny action RPG/first person shooter, the company has released a new trailer for the game. “The Taken King” cinematic trailer is mostly shots of scenes we’ve seen before in other trailers leading up to the launch, but this one definitely focuses more on the next chapter of Destiny‘s often criticized story.

I’ll be the first to admit that I jumped on the Destiny hype train only a couple days before launch, and unfortunately kind of regretted my decision due to gaps in the story and how incomplete it felt. I know that Destiny is supposed to be another epic series of games, and I can deal with that but unfortunately it felt like something was missing from it all. The two current DLC packs – “The Dark Below” and “House of Wolves” – started down the path to fleshing out some of the story, but it’s looking like “The Taken King” is going to be evolving it quite a bit.

After watching the trailer below, I have some faith that Bungie is fixing one of Destiny‘s biggest flaws.

Destiny‘s “The Taken King” releases on September 15 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

Are you looking forward to picking it up? Were you hesitating but now going all in after seeing the recent trailers? let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
