Speaking at the 2015 Tokyo Game Show during the Keynote, YouTube announced that their newly launched YouTube Gaming service will soon allow users to stream games directly from their Android smartphones and tablets.

No additional software or hardware will be required, and gamers can stream directly to YouTube Gaming. Using the front facing camera and audio from an attached headset, users will also be able to provide on the go commentary.

“Japan’s mobile games define its gaming culture, far more so than in other countries,” says YouTube’s global gaming head Ryan Wyatt in a statement. “This trend shows there’s a real need for gamers to easily share what’s on their screen with the gaming community, as it happens.”

YouTube has also been working with the Google Play team to integrate the record and upload feature directly into Google Play Games, allowing gamers to seamlessly upload gameplay clips from their favourite games to YouTube. Personally, it’ll be fun to be able to stream Hearthstone or other games from my mobile devices to YouTube.

No release date was given, but Wyatt said we could expect more features soon.
