NVIDIA Introduces GeForce NOW On-Demand Gaming Service

|

NVIDIA has announced the GeForce NOW on-demand service for “instant gaming gratification.” Before you get too excited, the service currently will only be available for the NVIDIA SHIELD gaming devices.

Dubbed “The New Way To Game,” GeForce NOW lets gamers stream the latest titles from NVIDIA’s cloud-gaming supercomputers in an instant. The service streams in 1080p at 60fps – a cloud-gaming service first.

GeForce NOW is a service designed, built and operated all by NVIDIA. We’ve optimized every piece of the technology behind GeForce NOW for gaming. That includes the low-latency game controller we built for SHIELD. The Tegra processors we built for our SHIELD devices. The advanced game engine we built into our GeForce GTX-powered servers.

The service launches on October 1st in North America, the European Union, and Japan with the first three months being free, and costing $7.99/month after that. Over 50 popular games will be available from the LEGO collection to the Batman Arkham series with the option to buy and play many other games instantly.

What do you think about the new GeForce NOW on-demand cloud-gaming streaming service? Is it something you’ll be looking into picking up for your NVIDIA SHIELD devices? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
