After renaming their Connects program to Lumia Voices last July, Microsoft has decided to shutter the program entirely on April 12th. The program allowed tech bloggers, photographers, movie makers, musicians, and anyone else who wanted to apply to test out Lumia devices. When the company made the name change, they indicated that they were going to continue the Lumia trials, as well as add new trials for Microsoft Surface and Fitbit devices.

Microsoft unveiled the news in an email sent out to previous program participants.

We are writing to tell you that the Lumia Voices programme will close on April 12th 2016. After a truly amazing few years, it’s now time for our wonderful community to embrace the benefits of being part of the wider Microsoft family.
