Xbox Beta App Hints At Xbox One Streaming To Windows 10 Mobile

Reddit user eric5949 may have discovered an upcoming feature in Windows 10 Mobile by accident — Xbox One Streaming to Windows 10 Mobile devices. Upon receiving an Xbox Live message from a friend with an Elite Dangerous screenshot attached, he clicked on the game name by accident and was taken to the game information page. He noticed that at the top it said “Play from console” instead of the usual “Play on console.”

Xbox-One-Streaming-Windows-10-Mobile-ErrorUpon trying it, he did see the streaming bar on the top of the Xbox Beta app, however it threw an error soon after indicating that he couldn’t stream from his Xbox One console. He tested it again and this time received a different error message that stated he didn’t have streaming enabled on his Xbox One — which he does. He also tried it with Destiny and had the same results.

This could either be a coding oversight on Microsoft’s part, or it could be a hint that Xbox One game streaming will be coming to Windows 10 Mobile and with E3 just a couple weeks away, that’s entirely possible. If this is a new feature that is coming, it’ll be interesting to see if Microsoft extends it to Android and iOS devices through the Xbox One Smartglass app on those — although I think that would be highly unlikely.

Would you stream your Xbox One games to your Windows 10 — or Android/iOS — device if you could? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
