Flipagram is expanding its capabilities to better compete with the market by teaming up with SoundHound to add songs from any song search. The pair announced a cross-platform integration, including the first Flipagram “Create Music Video” partnership. As Flipagram’s premier integration partner, SoundHound will add “Create Music Video” buttons within their song pages, allowing fans to create Flipagram videos from music identified or searched for using the SoundHound app. This also enables all Flipagram users to explore SoundHound’s artist, album, and song information and related content, providing a richer experience for audiences of both apps.

SoundHound will provide custom music data to the Flipagram platform, curating weekly charts showcasing the hottest trending tracks. Flipagram’s audience will have direct access to this content, making it easy to add the top SoundHound’ed songs to their Flipagram music videos.

“Flipagram is thrilled to be working with SoundHound, the most innovative source for music search and discovery, as our first music integration partner,” said Farhad Mohit, co-founder and CEO of Flipagram. “Through major distribution and content relationships with platforms like SoundHound, Flipagram continues to pioneer new social use cases for music and video.”

“We are very pleased to be collaborating with Flipagram, one of the industry’s pioneers in mobile music, video and social distribution,” said Keyvan Mohajer, SoundHound Inc.’s Founder and CEO. “The combination of SoundHound’s iconic music recognition, our Sing/Hum technology, and our ‘OK Hound’ natural language search feature delivers on music search, discovery, and play, and now we’re enabling new and joyful ways to create Flipagram music videos.”

Apps and services like Flipagram have become a hit with millions of users and the addition of SoundHound should sweeten the lure over to Flipagram for some. What do you think of the pair teaming up? Do you use Flipagram? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter, Facebook and Google+.
