One of the bigger announcements by Xbox at E3 was the introduction of the Xbox Play Anywhere program for Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. As we’re approaching the fall launch season, Microsoft has announced that the first batch of Xbox Play Anywhere titles are now available for pre-order from the Windows Store.

Some of the titles, like Forza Horizon 3, have been available for pre-order for some time now, but the official announcement also includes ReCore and Gears of War 4. ReCore will be the first to be released on September 13 (North America, Latin America, Asia Pacific except Japan); September 15 (Japan) and September 16 (EMEA). From the team that brought us Metroid Prime, this exclusive new IP combines action and platformer gameplay with an emotionally engaging story.
My favourite of the trio by far is Forza Horizon 3 which will be released starting on September 23 with the Ultimate Edition Early Access; September 27th for everyone else (September 29th in Japan). With over 350 cars to drive and explore Australia with, it’s sure to be a blast — especially with the Halo Warthog as a drivable vehicle. Finally, Gears of War 4 which follows the journey of Marcus’ son, JD Fenix, and his squad mates will be available on October 11th with Ultimate Edition pre-orders getting access four days earlier. Not only giving gamers cross-buy with Gears of War 4, the game will also feature cross-play in campaign, Horde, and Co-op Versus modes.
Future confirmed Xbox Play Anywhere titles include Sea of Thieves, Scalebound, Halo Wars 2, Ark: Survival Evolved, Cuphead, We Happy Few, and more.
