Join in the first Global Mission Challenge in Pokémon Sun and Moon

Pokémon Sun and Moon was released back on November 18th for the Nintendo 3DS and there’s already a big event that’s for everyone that has one or both games. The event started back on November 28th and runs until December 13th with the goal being for everyone to catch 100,000,000 (yes, that’s one HUNDRED million) Pokémon as a group.

If you are interested in joining in on the fun, all you need to do is head over to the Festival Plaza in the game, enter in the giant castle in the center, press A at the in-game computer, choose Game Sync, allow the device to connect to the internet, and the Game Sync will begin. Your Game Sync ID will be at the top, so once you have that written down, head over to www.pokemon-gl.com and sign in for a Pokémon Trainer Club ID. You will have the ability to create a Trainer Club ID at the same screen, but I did not see an option to just use the Game Sync ID to automatically join the event without a Trainer ID. If there is a way, please let us know and we will update the article accordingly.

The cool thing about this event is that if the goal is reached, everyone will receive 1,000 Festival Coins, but if not don’t fret as everyone who participates will receive 100 Festival Coins. Game Freak/Nintendo sure doesn’t mind giving participation trophies folks! Thanks, guys! The current number of Pokémon caught at the time of writing this article is 1,299,451.

If you have either or both games, are you currently participating in the global event and trying to catch all the Pokémon? Let us know by leaving your comments below or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
