If you grew up in the 80’s or just happened to like 80’s sci-fi movies, there is no doubt you’re aware of Blade Runner. The original movie with Harrison Ford has become a cult classic and still holds up to this day. Harrison Ford is returning to the Blade Runner universe, this time with Ryan Gosling, in Ridley Scott’s Blade Runner 2049. The official teaser trailer for Blade Runner 2049 offers little in the way of a storyline, but its release promises much. The only hints of a story are spelled out in the YouTube synopsis and it’s enough to make me excited. Now that Harrison Ford has been killed off as Han Solo, he has to do something to get his share of sci-fi glory in 2017!
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. Blade Runner is still one of my all-time favorite sci-fi flicks and I’m ready for this version, with the advance in filmmaking I’m hoping we’ll see an amazing movie.
