HTC announces the HTC U Ultra and U Play

Finally, the rumors about HTC’s new device can stop. Today is the day where HTC unveiled their newest handsets, the HTC U Ultra and U Play. The way HTC is portraying these new devices is that it’s all about U. The phones will learn from you with HTC’s new HTC Sense Companion AI, respond to you by voice recognition, provide updates without being interrupted with a second display, and so on.

The U Ultra and U Play both have a curved glass body and HTC describes it as:

A new, beautifully 3D contoured, liquid surface that’s designed to reflect the best you

Lustrous, symmetrical, curved glass construction reflects light beautifully

Color from vapored minerals layered to add depth and brilliance from every angle

As the polished surface bends and blends seamlessly into the side of the phone

Allowing it to nestle perfectly in your hand.

HTC has come up with their own AI called HTC Sense Companion. It’s always learning everything you do, and will offer suggestions based on what it has learned. It can let you know that it’ll be cold outside so dress warm, or if you’re on vacation, there will be recommendations for restaurants, among other things. HTC Sense Companion will continue to get better and better over time when it continues to learn your habits.

USonic is like a fingerprint, but for your ears. There will be a sonar-like pulse and it will adapt to your hearing so if you’re playing music, you won’t be constantly turning the volume up or down if you are unable to hear in one or both ears. Like mentioned above, there will be a second display (same as LG V series) on top that will provide you with notifications so you won’t be bothered with them on the main screen if you’re trying to watch a video or play a game.
