So the Galaxy S8 leaks have been coming fast and furious and one notable feature was the lack of branding on the front panel. Traditionally, Samsung has thrown their logo on both the front and back of their smartphones, so omitting it would have been a welcome change. I have to admit, the leaks I have seen look really amazing with that all black front screen free of any Samsung or Galaxy S8 branding. Well, our excitement may be all for nought as noted leaker Evan Blass (@evleaks on Twitter) suggests that Samsung will indeed place their logo on the front of the new S8.
Those bemoaning the dearth of branding on the S8 will be pleased to learn that the top 1/4″ of screen will be hard-coded to display SAMSUNG.

Having the Samsung logo on the front in a glossy glass mirror wasn’t all that great, I can’t imagine what a hard-coded LED version will look like. Of course, it’s the right of any company to brand their products, and the branding may not matter to a lot of people. Although, there is a good portion of users who absolutely hate branding or at least prefer it to be subtle. This is still a rumour, but Blass has a decent track record of being spot on. It would have been nice to have zero branding on the front because I think the phone would have looked amazing, but Samsung is going to do what Samsung is going to do.
What do you think of Samsung not ditching the logo on the front? Do you think this rumour will hold true? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter, Facebook, and Google+.
