Upcoming Huawei Mate 9 ad features actor Justin Long

Actor Justin Long has done more than just acting in movies. If you recall, he was the Mac guy going up against the PC guy John Hodgeman back when Apple was showing their Mac verse PC ads on TV for about three years from 2006 to 2009. Things took a turn between Long and Apple after the actor portrayed Steve Jobs in the movie iSteve produced by Funny or Die, which was more of a comedy and not so much correct about Steve Jobs and the Apple company.

A quick run down of the video, Justin Long is doing an interview with the Huawei Mate 9 and while the phone isn’t giving any actual responses, it does reply back with emojis, a picture that is “vibrant and lifelike,” a battery that lasts two days thanks to the 4000mAh battery, and stating its name is Alexa because the Amazon Alexa app does come installed in the Mate 9. Mr. Long goes on to show his ability to be a sales pitchman due to his past with tech while making the interview somewhat funny — overall, it’s not a bad commercial.

The ad will supposedly show this coming Sunday during the Superbowl, but we’ll just have to wait and see when the times comes. While the ad is showing off the Mate 9, it will also hopefully help Huawei make some kind of stamp here in the US on sales since overseas in China it’s one of the top selling smartphone manufacturers.

What are your thoughts about Huawei’s new commercial starring Justin Long having an interview with the Mate 9? Do you think Huawei has picked up Mr. Long to star in more commercials like HTC did with Robert Downey, Jr.? Let us know by leaving your comments down below or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
