VAIN STHLM is a headphone company out of Sweden which we first heard about early last year. When we reviewed the VAIN STHLM Originals we found them to be a really nice set of earbuds. Now the company is releasing an entirely new product with their on-ear Commute series. The Commute on-ear headphones will be priced at €159EUR/£139GBP/$187USD. The company says these headphones are designed to fill the gap between mid-range and luxury.

The Commute headphones are said to have deep, heavy bass, excellent treble, and a perfectly balanced mid-range. The battery is designed to be light, which the company says makes the Commute comfortable for daily use, and delivers 12 hours of talk/music playback from a 2-hour charge. The color offerings are inspired by the Stockholm subway and are Misty Grey, Rail Grey, and Slate Blue, with copper finishing to reflect Sweden’s industrial copper heritage.

VAIN STHLM (pronounced VAIN STOCKHOLM) launched just two years ago with a stunning range of in-ear headphones aimed at style-conscious music-loving individuals. Now with multiple design awards and a global customer base, VAIN STHLM seem certain to increase its influence yet further with the launch of Commute, the Swedish company’s first on-ear model.

Designed by award-winning industrial designer, Lisa Minogue, the Commute enjoys typically Scandinavian, minimal design and attention to detail. The headphones are light and comfortable, using smart designed, noise-reducing ear cushions, made from high-quality protein leather, which keeps out surrounding noise, enclosing you in a world of your own.

The premium VAIN sound is designed and uniquely tuned by ear, in-house at the VAIN studios. The balanced, yet powerful sound is the result of long development, testing, and dedication. The Commute is equipped with aptX and AAC audio technology that can deliver this sound across a Bluetooth connection with CD-like quality.
