Since its debut in September, the demand for Apple’s iPhone X has been building. According to the Cupertino company, after an evening of pre-orders, the iPhone X demand is “off the charts.” Whether you were one of the ones who got up in the middle of the night — or decided sleep was more important — wait times for delivery on the latest Apple flagship are said to be pushing into December. According to an Apple spokesperson in a statement:
“We’re working hard to get this revolutionary new product into the hands of every customer who wants one, as quickly as possible,” the statement said.
Of course, this comes after reports of a limited stock of the new phone was reported by Apple factories in Asia. The iPhone X demand is said to come from a number of factors including its virtually bezel-free, all-screen form factor, True-Depth camera, and OLED display. It should be noted that the True-Depth camera and its difficulty in being manufactured is to blame for the low number of units available at launch.
If you’re not willing to wait the weeks it’ll take for the iPhone X to ship, Apple has mentioned that it will have units available when the device launches officially on Nov. 3. If you’re willing to wait in line — and let’s face it, if you want one of these beauties in round one, you’ll need to line up early — you should be able to snag one. But if you’re not gung-ho on being in on the first generation, and you want most of the bells and whistles the iPhone X has, you can always get an iPhone 8 or 8 Plus. While some of us here at Techaeris are going the iPhone X route, I went with the latter option.
