Acer’s Switch 7 2-in-1 notebook offers liquid-cooling and discrete graphics

Slimmer, faster, more powerful, quieter… these are all features that companies have been packing into laptops over the past few years. Just ahead of CES, Acer has announced the Switch 7 2-in-1 notebook with Dual LiquidLoop fanless cooling technology, discrete graphics, and 8th Generation Intel Core processors for the modern professional and content creators.

Flagged as the “ideal 2-in-1,” the Switch 7 Black Edition also features an AutoStand patented kickstand, under-glass fingerprint sensor, 2256 x 1504 resolution, and a Wacom Stylus. With the 8th-gen Intel Core processor and NVIDIA® GeForce® MX150 graphics, it has the processing and graphics power to handle intensive tasks, content creation, and video streaming while lasting up to 8 hours on a single battery charge. Lightweight with its brushed aluminum brushed-aluminum body the Switch 7  measures only 0.39 inches (9.99mm) thin and weighs only 1.18kg (2.6lbs.) with the keyboard detached.

  • 8th Generation Intel Core i7-8550U processor 1.8GHz with Turbo Boost technology up to 4.0GHz
  • 16GB of LPDDR3 memory
  • 512GB SSD
  • 13.5-inch IPS touchscreen display
  • 2256 x 1504 resolution
  • USB 3.1 Type C Gen 2 port that supports up to 10Gbps, DisplayPort, Thunderbolt 3 and USB charging
  • 802.11ac WiFi featuring 2×2 MIMO technology
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 720p front-facing HD camera
  • Rear-facing full HD 1080p camera with an 88-degree wide angle lens
  • Stylus powered by Wacom EMR technology and features 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity and pen tilt support to control the angle, width, and shading

The Acer Switch 7 Black Edition will be available in January with a one-year limited parts and labor warranty and prices starting at US$1,699 (MSRP).
