Aside from under-the-hood power, a smooth gameplay experience without lag or screen tearing is a must have for gamers. One way to achieve this is through higher refresh rates. In the past, gamers had to choose between NVIDIA or AMD in order take advantage of NVIDIA’s G-SYNC or AMD’s FreeSync. Lately, there have been monitors coming out that offer higher native refresh rates and BenQ’s latest — the 27″ ZOWIE XL2740 — offers up a native 240Hz refresh rate for gamers.

Geared towards eSports, the XL2740 is more than suitable for home PC gaming as well. With it’s 27″ FHD (1920×1080) resolution and side shields, the monitor also comes with BenQ’s S-Switch which is designed for easy access to the monitor menu, switch between up to three saved profile modes, and quick change between connected devices.

The latest monitor from BenQ includes DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort 1.2 connections as well as a headphone and mic jack. The Black eQualizer mode increases visibility in dark scenes without affecting the brightness of lighter scenes. If you’re one of those who favours more vibrant colours, the XL2740 offers up to 20 levels of Color Vibrance settings as well.

Pricing and availability have yet to be released but we’ll let you know once we have that information!
