Design
I wish there were a lot to say about the design of the BOOST↑UP but it’s fairly basic and understated. It’s a white circular device constructed of high-quality plastics and other materials. There’s no real style to it, but it’s also not ugly, it just is. It’s slightly larger than some other wireless charging pads but not overly huge. The Belkin logo is on the top and the power cable plugs in flush with the device.
There is a nice rubber ring on the top that helps keep slippery phones from slipping off. Finally, there is an LED indicator to show charging status of your phone. Overall it’s super simple, understated and not overdone. I think most will appreciate its quiet design.
Ease of Use
The Belkin BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Pad is super easy to use. Plug and play is the order of the day here. Just plug the cable into the BOOST↑UP and place your iPhone on the pad and you’re off and running. Overall, nothing to this at all, anyone can get up and running in a matter of a minute.
Performance
If you’ve updated your iPhone to iOS 11.2 then you should be able to take advantage of 7.5W charging on the Belkin BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Pad. If your phone isn’t up to date then you’ll have to live with the 5W charging capacity. That’s really not a huge deal. While 7.5W is a bit faster, it’s only about 10% faster but it is nice to have. I found I could charge the iPhone from 1% to about 50% in an hour and to nearly 80% in an hour and a half.
That’s not bad for wireless charging and charging times will vary. Wired charging is obviously much faster, especially if you use a rapid charger or a power brick like the one on the 12″ MacBook. Overall the BOOST↑UP performed as I thought it should. It sits on my nightstand so it’s just nice to drop it on the pad and go to bed and know it will be 100% charged by morning.
Price/Value
The Belkin BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Pad is a bit pricey at $59.99USD. There are other lesser known brands for cheaper but then some may prefer buying a brand with name recognition. Plus Belking gives you an additional 1-Year Warranty with the registration of the charging pad. While it’s on the pricey side, there is a lot of value here as well.
Wrap Up
The Belkin BOOST↑UP Wireless Charging Pad is a solid option for wireless charging for your iPhone. The design is nice and simple and the performance is spot on. It also works with Android devices should you wish to use it for that.
