All-in-one (AIO) PCs are great for a lot of people. The compact design coupled with a large screen provides an easy way to get up and going with a new computer. AIOs have never been too horribly thick, but as technology improves, we’re of course starting to see thinner and thinner entries into the category. Today, Acer has announced the Acer Aspire S24 AIO, the slimmest all-in-one PC currently available coming in at a svelte .235″ side profile.
The 23.8″ FHD IPS screen is not only thin, it includes a small .106″ bezel, creating a screen to body ratio of 90%. A black and matte gold finish provide a bit of class to the device as well. Acer has also included many of their other monitor tech including Acer ExaColor, BluelightShield, and Flickerless technologies.
Now, to be completely fair, the very slim width is mostly achieved by stuffing the computer hardware into the base and allowing the monitor to stand on its own up top. I’m not knocking the practice by any means, I actually really like that idea, since many AIOs have all of the ports and inputs in awkward positions on the back of the monitor. Moving things down to the base provides a much easier way to access the necessary ports.
The base has a few other tricks up its sleeve too, including Qi wireless charging. Also included to power the PC are an 8th gen Intel Core i5 processor, 12GB of DDR4 2400MHz memory, and 1TB of storage. Rounding out the tech specs you’ll also find a USB 3.1 Gen1 Type-C port, three USB 3.1 Gen1 Type A ports, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI supports a second display, and a SD card reader. An included wireless keyboard and mouse complete the hardware package.
Customers in the United States will be able to purchase an Acer Aspire S24 of their very own for only $879.99 USD. The AIO will be available this month. You can read more about the Acer Aspire S24 in the full press release below.
