After catching many of us by surprise just a few months ago, the Amazon purchase of Ring is now complete. Amazon welcomed the video doorbell makers into the fold today, and immediately dropped the price on the Ring Video Doorbell down to $99 USD.
We’ve liked all of the Ring hardware that we’ve reviewed here at Techaeris, and it will be interesting to see how Amazon and Ring incorporate each other’s technology into their products. Amazon has said from the beginning that Ring will continue to operate as their own entity, and that has not changed. I know I wouldn’t complain if Amazon decided to include at least some Ring video backup as part of my Amazon Prime subscription, but so far no luck in that regard. Maybe as the two companies move forward together. I can always hope, right?
You can read more about the deal coming together in the full press release below, and check out more Ring products on Amazon.
