As often as Oppo comes out with newer phones, it’s nice to see them keep up with today’s tech even on devices that are mid-range. A few days ago, Oppo made a TENAA listing about their upcoming device, the A5. The listing shows off some more information about the device such as what processor it would be using, the amount of RAM it has and the screen size. Finally, we get to see what Oppo has unveiled for the Oppo A5.

Even though this device is mid-range, it’s offering some pretty powerful specs that might be leaning more towards the higher end side. The phone has a screen size of 6.2-inches, which may be on the larger side for a mid-range device, the aspect ratio is 19:9 with a screen resolution of 1520 x 720p — which is a bit low for a larger screen. There’s also a notch up at the top as well, it seems there’s no escaping it on newer devices.

On the inside of the device, you’re looking at a Snapdragon Mobile 650 octa-core processor clocking in at 1.8GHz. There’s also 4GB RAM to go with that and 64GB of internal storage which can also be expanded up to 256GB thanks to a microSD card slot. On the GPU side, you’re getting the Adreno 506. The battery comes in at 4230mAh but is rated for 4100mAh. Now for the camera, you’ll be getting a dual camera set up with one lens at 13MP and the other at 2MP and an 8MP front-facing camera. ColorOS 5.1, Oppo’s launcher, is running on top of Android 8.1 Oreo. Last but not least, the color options are Mirror Blue and Phantom Powder.
