Netflix profiles have been around for awhile — 2013 in fact — but to be honest, the profile icon choices are currently somewhat lacking. That’s about to change as the Netflix profile icons are finally getting updated with a much needed makeover. In addition to a bunch of new icons, Netflix will also let you update your profile icon with “some of the most beloved characters from Netflix shows and movies.”
The new icons will be rolling out to mobile, TV devices, and the Netflix website over the next few weeks.
We know the series and movies on Netflix are more than just things you watch to pass the time. The stories — and the characters in them —are also your heroes, frenemies, soulmates and everything in between. We’re thrilled to give you a way to show your fandom and make your connection with Netflix more unique.
If you don’t currently use profiles, Netflix not only suggests setting them up for each member in your household but also for different moods. While you can only set up five profiles per Netflix account, if you have a couple unused ones, making one and setting it for romcoms or action/adventure moods is just as easy as setting it up for a family member. Once set up, make sure you only watch shows or movies of that type and over time the recommended shows under that mood profile will reflect that “mood.”
