October is going to be an exciting month as a bunch of OEMs will be announcing some of their upcoming smartphones to the market. Huawei has their Mate 20 event on October 16th, LG will be talking about their latest V-series device, the LG V40, on the 3rd, and Google has their big even for the Pixel 3/3 XL on October 9th. Add Razer to the list as they’ll be unveiling a new device, presumably the Razer Phone 2, on the 10th — a day after Google.
Razer has already been sending out their invites to the media letting them know that the next flagship from the gaming company will be on the 10th. The invite itself shows a “save the date” of 10/10/18 and “FLAGSHIP // GAMING” underneath it. The location it’s set to be announced at is in Hollywood, CA and an itinerary is made to give some details as to what will go on during the unveiling.
Rumors of the device so far have been hush so far, but from the invite, we can tell that the next Razer Phone will look very similar to last years Razer Phone. One other rumor is the mobile device could be running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 SoC and have Razer Chrome LED support.
The first gen Razer had a 120Hz display, so we should see something similar to it this year. If Razer is bold enough, they could match some gaming monitors by having the display refresh set to at least 144Hz. The Razer Phone 2 could keep the same RAM amount of 8GB from the previous
