I don’t usually do unboxings for various reasons (time being one of them) but with a speaker like Cotodama’s Lyric Speaker Canvas, it had to be done! We’ve reviewed many speakers here at Techaeris over the years but nothing like this. So just what makes it so special? The Lyric Speaker Canvas, like its predecessor the Lyric Speaker, displays lyrics to whatever music you’re listening to on its front display.

First impressions
The Lyric Speaker Canvas is a pretty solidly built speaker. It’ll definitely look great on a bookshelf or other shelf both when in use and not in use. Setup wasn’t too difficult using Google Home but wasn’t without a minor glitch which a restart of the app fixed. Overall, the speaker has pretty decent sound during our limited testing so far. I was definitely impressed by the number of songs that have lyrics in Cotodama’s lyric database. I’m definitely looking forward to putting the speaker through its paces over the next couple weeks.
