Tamagotchis have been around since the 90s. I remember having my own when I was young. Then the trend died, only to be revived again in this day and age. Now, Tamagotchi and The Pokemon Company have partnered up and are coming out with an Eevee Tamagotchi that you can care for. Forever and ever.
Of course, with this Eevee Tamagotchi, it’ll work the same way as the old Tamagotchi used to. You can feed it, play with it, take care of it, and more. With this newer version, the way you care for the Pokémon will determine how it will evolve. You can get Eevee to evolve into either Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon, or Sylveon.
Unfortunately, only Japan is getting this new gadget on January 26th, 2019. There’s no word on if it’ll be sold outside of Japan, but maybe something will come up when the toy comes out next year. The retail price of this Tamagotchi will be 2,300 yen or about $20USD and will come in either a yellow “I love you, Eevee” or pink “colorful friends” colored case.
There was a leak towards the beginning of this month showing these two Eevee Tamagotchis could be out when Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon Let’s Go Eevee games were released, but that didn’t happen when the game came out last week. With there now being more concrete information, we’ll all have to wait until January 2019 to see if we can get hands on the device.
This could get some big being attention to fans of Pokémon, especially in Japan where the Pocket Monsters originate from. I wish this was coming to the states because I wouldn’t mind getting one. I’d love to carry around an Umbreon everywhere I go.Source: The Verge
