Star Trek: Picard teaser may keep me from canceling CBS All Access

Let’s face it, many of us only subscribed to CBS All Access for Star Trek: Discovery. Having binged watched season 1 and 2 I was already thinking of canceling my subscription until season 3 came rolling in. But now, I may just keep CBS All Access, for now. Because they just dropped a teaser trailer for Star Trek: Picard.

First, I have to say that this teaser trailer for Picard is certainly a teaser by pure definition. There’s really not much meat here at all but seeing Patrick Stewert again the memories of Star Trek: The Next Generation came flooding back which makes me want to see what CBS All Access has in store for one of our favorite Star Fleet Captains of all time. Check out the teaser trailer for Picard below:

In case you’re not in the U.S., you should be able to watch this version of the trailer below:

We really enjoyed what CBS did with Star Trek: Discovery, save a few complaints here and there, and we hope they can do the same with this series. It’s absolutely fun to see the franchise getting some new life pumped into it with new stories and adventures.

We’re hopeful for some appearances from other Next Generation cast members in this series, either as regulars or guests.

The series was first rumored in June 2018 when Kurtzman began his expansion and was officially announced that August after months of negotiations with Stewart who had previously said he would not return to the franchise after Nemesis. Filming began in California in April 2019, with the series’ official title announced a month later.

The series is set 20 years after Jean-Luc Picard’s last appearance in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002), and finds the character deeply affected by the destruction of Romulus as depicted in the film Star Trek (2009).

It looks like the series won’t be premiering until late 2019, so perhaps I’ll cancel and re-up when it does. Although my wife may have something to say about giving up her Survivor re-runs, LOL.

What do you think of this new series? Hard to tell from such a short teaser? Or are you all in? Let us know in the comments below or on Twitter, or Facebook. You can also comment on our MeWe page by joining the MeWe social network.
