Tubi launches marketing campaign taking jabs at Netflix and Hulu

Streaming our entertainment has become the norm in 2019. More and more people are abandoning cable and traditional TV in favor of streaming Netflix, Hulu, and Tubi. But wait, Tubi? What the heck is Tubi?

Well, you know who Netflix and Hulu are but many users are unaware there are other streaming services available out there that might pique their interest. Tubi is one of those services and the best thing about it is that it is free to use.

How’s that possible? Well, some may not like the answer but it’s really not bad. The company can provide free streaming thanks to ads placed within the content. Before you go crazy, Hulu already plays ads in their content, even the entry-level paid tier. I’ve been using Tubi for the better part of 6-months and I’ve not found their ads any more annoying than Hulu.

Now, the company has launched a new marketing campaign to try and make the public more aware of their presence. The marketing campaign is also designed to have some fun with the big dogs like Netflix and Hulu.

Netflix and Hulu are the prime targets.

Tubi’s new outdoor marketing campaign includes witty lines such as:

  • Dear Netflix, I had my first freesome last night. Tubi was amazing.
  • Dear Netflix, I didn’t think you’d find out. I streamed Tubi last night.
  • Dear Hulu, I was with Tubi last night, but I only watched.
  • Dear Hulu, you’re cool and all, but I couldn’t take my eyes off Tubi last night.
  • Dear NYC. You free tonight? Because we are.

The company’s marketing campaign even reached to the skies when it flew over Netflix’s headquarters with a banner message for the streaming giant.

Flying over Netflix

We’ve just recently started a new “Coming to” series where you can see what’s upcoming on this new streaming service. We also do a “New on” series for Netflix users and we’re very happy to see more competition. We enjoy both Netflix and Tubi and more choices for users is only a good thing.
