Dual screen smartphones are slowly hitting the market. LG’s latest, the LG G8X ThinQ Dual Screen, was unveiled at IFA 2019 in Berlin and will be available in Canada on November 1st.

“The mobile needs of our consumers are evolving. They need to be able to do more, and one screen doesn’t always suffice. Whether it’s texting while gaming or live streaming a sporting event while taking photos, the LG G8XThinQ Dual Screen lets users do more in the palm of their hand.”

Richard White, VP of Marketing, LG Electronics Canada

While some companies are trying to create smartphones with a foldable dual screen setup, LG’s iteration features a detachable second display. Separate applications can be run on either screen a the same time, enhancing multitasking abilities for users. With this setup, users can game and text or stream and take photos at the same time.

Mobile gaming is also enhanced with the new LG Game Pad which uses one screen as your mobile controller. It can be used with any game that supports external Bluetooth game controllers and includes customizable configurations for shooting, racing, action, sports, and more.
