We are back at CES! It has been several years since we’ve been to a live CES event, and this year we managed to make it, albeit for only three days. The normal six days we’re here is never enough to see everything, and three days is even less of enough time. But, we still managed to scrape together the Techaeris Best of CES 2024 list.

As much as we would have loved to add dozens more winners, we had to limit the number we picked. But, this Techaeris Best of CES 2024 list is by far the longest list we’ve ever done. I had set a limit at twenty, but there were just too many things that were so good, they had to be on the list. So here are the Techaeris Best of CES 2024 winners in no particular order.

Alienware m16 R2 Gaming Laptop
Our engineers and designers challenged themselves to craft a product that fulfills those requirements and introduces new features to the market. Meet the m16 R2, a redesigned gaming laptop that prioritizes performance, flexibility and portability, while preserving the Alienware advantages our customers have come to love.
Striking this balance required us to make bold changes. Let’s start with the most visible update. We knew to make our notebook more travel-friendly that we needed to bid adieu to the thermal shelf. But doing so was no simple task — after all, it housed the components that kept the previous model running cool.
Our engineers were up for the challenge — they completely redesigned and optimized a new thermal solution for the m16 R2 by adapting our Cryo-tech cooling to be more efficient in a smaller package. This ultimately resulted in 43% more efficient airflow compared to the previous model, and though we can’t divulge all the alien technology behind these thermal gains, you can rest assured the m16 R2 won’t break a sweat when playing the latest games.
Then there is the size benefit. Removing the thermal shelf reduced the depth of the laptop, resulting in a 15% smaller footprint compared to the previous generation. With this size reduction, the new 16” notebook easily fits into a small backpack and saves precious desk space for your gaming mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
Not only is the m16 R2 more compact, but it also has a larger palm rest and touchpad. How did we pull this off? By designing a slim yet sturdy 180-degree hinge and positioning it on the back edge of the notebook. Placing the hinge where the thermal shelf once resided gave us space to push up the keyboard and expand both the palm rest and touchpad.

Mosqitter Mini Mosquito Killing Machine

The R&D team developed the Grand mosquito trap optimizing attraction across these four elements, leveraging smart technology with no toxic chemicals to reduce mosquito populations by 93% within a 2 acre-radius. Mosqitter Grand has been deployed across five continents and was instrumental in safeguarding global leaders at the G20 Summit in New Delhi.

Samsung QN900D 8K TV

Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 Gaming Monitor

With the unveiling of these new models, Samsung has further strengthened its OLED lineup and bolstered its leadership position in the gaming monitor market. Together, the Odyssey OLED innovations and the continued advancements of the Odyssey Neo series — which saw the release of the world’s first Dual UHD gaming monitor last year with the 57-inch Odyssey Neo G9 — are delivering features and performance that will help define the future of gaming.
Samsung Transparent MicroLED TV
With the new Transparent MICRO LED, Samsung is showing the world that there are infinite possibilities for screens. This new display, which looks like a piece of transparent glass, boasts an extremely small MICRO LED chip and a precision manufacturing process that eliminates seams and light refraction. This allows the transparent MICRO LED to create a clear, unobstructed picture for various use cases in both homes and business environments.
Touting a modular design that allows viewers to personalize the shape, size, and ratio of screens to fit any space, MICRO LED is a truly innovative screen technology. Samsung’s years of research and development — stemming from its semiconductor expertise — have led to an extremely effective process, allowing LED chip operation circuits to be directly deposited on the glass and thereby mitigating the loss of brightness that users may experience with conventional displays. Acer Aspire Vero 16 Laptop
On the other hand, the Acer Aspire Vero 16 is powered by the new Intel Core Ultra processors, complete with Intel AI Boost. Not only that, but Acer has committed to making this model carbon-neutral by taking actions to minimize its carbon footprint at each state of the laptop’s lifecycle and applying high-quality carbon credits to make up the difference and achieve carbon neutrality.
Combining a new design and the latest collaboration features, the Acer Aspire Vero 16 (AV16-51P) is made for those who are looking for an eco-conscious choice without sacrificing performance. Engineered to do more, the Intel Evo Edition is powered with up to Intel Core Ultra 7 processors with Intel AI Boost to deliver premium PC experiences, supercharged productivity, and long-lasting battery life of up to 10.5 hours on a single charge. Acer Predator Z57 Gaming Monitor
The massive 57-inch Predator Z57 with a DUHD (7680×2160) resolution at 120Hz is a gaming goliath for conquering the fiercest battles. TCL 50 Series Smartphones

TCL Q-Series 4K TV Lineup
TCL’s Q Class sets itself apart with Quantum Dot Technology for rich QLED Color. The first new series, TCL’s Q6, adds the High Brightness Plus LED Backlight for an additional 28% more brightness. The combination of high color and more brightness means more color volume for better overall picture quality. For gamers, Q6 also adds the Game Accelerator 120 feature that allows fast 120 VRR gaming. TCL’s 85” and larger Q6 models also include a native 120Hz Panel Refresh Rate with clear fast motion so gamers can step up to Game Accelerator 240 for blistering fast 240 VRR gaming on a big screen TV. The new Q6 will be available in 43” to 98” screen sizes.
New for 2024 is TCL’s Q6-Pro, with all the great features of Q6 plus Full Array Local Dimming for deeper black levels and up to 33% more brightness with 600 peak nits. In addition, Q6-Pro will offer conveniences such as hands-free voice control, a backlit remote, and adjustable width feet on larger sizes. The new Q6-Pro will be available in 50” to 85” screen sizes.
Providing consumers with even more premium options, TCL adds another Mini LED model to the Q Class family – QM7. The QM7 incorporates premium High Zone QD Mini LED with precise control of up to 1,500+ Zones. It also adds the new High Brightness ULTRA LED Backlight with incredible brightness up to 2,400 peak nits, and QLED color PRO. Utilizing the enhanced TCL AIPQ PRO Processor, the QM7 is a high-speed, high-zone TV.
As a true premium TV, QM7 includes a host of other technologies including a native 120Hz Panel Refresh Rate on all screen sizes, Game Accelerator 240, HDR ULTRA with Dolby Vision IQ, a 2.1 Channel Speaker System with built-in subwoofer, and an elegant adjustable height pedestal stand (65- to 85-inch sizes). With IMAX Enhanced Certification and AMD FreeSync Premium Certification, the TCL QM7 is a certified winner. The new QM7 will be available in 55” to 98” screen sizes.
At the flagship level is the QM8 which includes the incredible QD Mini LED ULTRA for Ultra High Zone Dimming with up to 5,000+ Zones. This is more than twice the number of zones of the previous flagship level for truly inky blacks. Also included is the High Brightness ULTIMATE LED Backlight with up to 5,000 peak nits, and QD color ULTRA, for incredibly dynamic images. This is 2.5 times brighter than the current “brightest TV ever.”
TCL Q-Series Soundbars
The Q75H is a 5.1.2 Channel Dolby Atmos Sound Bar. In addition to the features of the S55H, the Q75H includes the Ray-Danz Acoustic Wave-Guide Reflectors to direct sound across the width of the room. This model also includes a Center Channel Speaker, built-in tweeters, built-in up-firing Dolby Atmos Speakers, and built-in Side Surround Speakers.
The Q85H is a 7.1.4 Channel Dolby Atmos Sound Bar. Stepping up from the Q75H, it adds rear speakers that are wireless but also include rear up-firing Dolby Atmos Drivers. The Q85H creates truly enveloping sound, and a sound experience that needs to be auditioned.
ASUS Zenbook DUO (UX8406) Laptop
When using a laptop, a second screen can often come in handy. Dual-screen laptops aren’t new, although rare, and often come in the form of a single foldable screen. Now with the ASUS Zenbook DUO, users don’t have to worry about the crease in a foldable laptop, nor do they have to worry about carrying a portable monitor around with them when working on the go.
Stacked vertically, the ASUS Lumina OLED screens are Dolby Vision certified with 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certified, and Pantone Validated. The detachable full-size Bluetooth ASUS ErgoSnese keyboard and touchpad allow users to use the Zenbook DUO as a traditional laptop. ASUS ROG Strix SCAR 18
The 2024 Strix SCAR 18’s mini LED ROG Nebula HDR Display has over 2000 discrete dimming zones and maxes out at 1100 nits of peak brightness. Coupled with the ROG Nebula HDR Engine, gamers can expect “incredibly vivid HDR performance” alongside “minimized blooming and haloing even in challenging scenes.” We did get a sneak peek at the new systems back in December at an ASUS event in Toronto, and the display on the Strix SCAR 18 doesn’t disappoint. While the ROG Nebula HDR Display is reserved for the SCAR 18, all models in the lineup have a 2.5K resolution with 240Hz refresh rates, under 3ms GTG response time, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 100% DCI-P3 colour space coverage.
Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid
Experience the ultimate flexibility with the latest addition to trailblazing designs offered by the ThinkBook Plus portfolio.
