New Sony Xperia Z5 Will Include A Fingerprint Scanner

Android / Mobile / Tech

Every so often Sony likes to announce a new device for the Xperia Z line. The majority of the time the devices have all featured internal updates, but no design updates. The entire Z line is a prime example. From the first Xperia Z to the latest Xperia Z3+, the design hasn’t changed much, unless you count the volume rocker redesign. The camera resolution started out at 13.3MP on the Xperia Z and was then bumped up to 20.7MP, and has remained the same since. Screen resolution (1080p) has also stayed the same over the years.

Evan Blass (@evleaks), does what he usually does when it comes to leaks is post them to his Twitter account. The Tweet talked about Sony’s conference on September 2nd and will unveil 3 handsets. What’s being announced will be the Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Premium, and the Xperia z5 Compact.

While not much information has been provided about these devices to date, this leaked info is enough to get us by until September 2nd. The first phone, Xperia Z5 Compact, should be coming with a 4.6″ screen with a 720p resolution. Next up is the Xperia Z5 that will include a 1080p screen resolution, while the screen size is 5.2″. Nothing new right? Well, add in a fingerprint scanner on the power/standby button and a 23MP camera to it. Something new. Last on the list is the Xperia Z5 Premium which is now rumoured to come with a 5.5″ screen and a 4K display.

Even though this leak was from @evleaks who has generally been reliable in the past, don’t forget to take this with a grain of salt at least until IFA starts on September 2nd.

If all this information is true, do you plan on buying one of the three devices that might be unveiled. Let us know in the comment section below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.
