Samsung Foldable Display Smartphone Coming In January?

Samsung has teased us in the past with foldable displays, and rumours are starting to surface that Samsung’s “Project Valley” foldable display smartphone could be coming as soon as January. The news first surfaced on Weibo, and indicates that two versions of the device could be coming.

Details on the device are pretty light. One version will apparently be equipped with a Snapdragon 620 processor, with the other getting a Snapdragon 820. A non-removable battery, 3GB memory and a microSD card slot are the only other details mentioned. It’s odd an SD card slot is even being considered, especially since recent versions of Samsung devices have opted to leave the SD card slot out. As with all rumours, these specifications and release window should be taken with the usual grain of salt.

It’s no secret that Samsung has been interested in flexible displays, and have been teasing us with them for some time now. Patent applications by the company outline design specifications for a foldable display smartphone device as well.
