OnePlus Now Selling Their Version Of Google Cardboard To Watch Their OnePlus Two Event

OnePlus has been known to think outside the box when it comes to marketing. Though it may be the strangest and most pain in the rear marketing when it comes to getting the phone, OnePlus sure has made an impact for coming out with a high end lower cost phone.

Back on Thursday June 25th, OnePlus created a post on their site stating they would be launching the OnePlus Two in VR. This would also be the world’s first product launch in VR. See, that’s the stuff that gets you brownie points for thinking outside the box.

The product launch date is set for July 27th at 7 PM PT. OnePlus is allowing you to now buy their version of Google Cardboard so you can watch their live event. The Cardboard device itself is free, but you will have to pay $5 for shipping. That’s not bad considering if you want Google’s cardboard, you pay for the VR set and shipping which is cheap, but not $5. OnePlus does state their cardboard is tailored to fit the OnePlus One and that they are losing money on it, but want to share with everyone.

OnePlus is offering 30,000 units, so you’d better get it quickly before they run out. I bought mine once I received the email about it. OnePlus also made a post on their Google + account yesterday stating they were giving away 1,000 OnePlus Cardboard units. If you saw it yesterday, you probably signed up to receive one. Of course there’s nothing wrong with getting two VR sets if you get one for free and bought one (good luck on both).
