There’s no arguing that Marvel’s Daredevil on Netflix was a success for Marvel. With Jon Bernthal already joining the cast as Frank Castle, a.k.a. The Punisher, the second season of the series just got even better as Marvel has announced that Elektra will be joining the cast as well.

Referenced in the first season as a mysterious woman from Matt Murdock’s past, Elektra will be played by Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: RetaliationDistrict 13: Ultimatum). Yung joins Charlie Cox (who plays Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Jon Bernthal, and Rosario Dawson in the dark superhero drama.

“After a worldwide search,  we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

Marvel’s Daredevil follows Matt Murdock, a man who was blinded as a young boy in an accident who gains extraordinary senses as a result. Lawyer by day, Murdock dons the Daredevil suit to combat crime in modern day Hell’s Kitchen which is located in New York City.
