It’s no surprise that some games just play better and are more fun with a controller. And with Microsoft allowing Xbox One streaming to Windows 10 devices, a controller is a necessity. Gamers have been able to use Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers on their PC’s and other Windows devices for some time now, but you’ve always had to connect your Xbox One controller with a USB cable in order for it to work.

Just prior to E3, Microsoft did announce a new wireless adapter for Xbox One controllers. The adapter will plug into your USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 port of your Windows 10 PC, laptop, or tablet and connect to your Xbox One Wireless controller eliminating the need for USB cables when gaming with a controller on your PC. That wireless adapter now has a street date of October 20th and will retail for $24.99USD.

Features of the adapter include:

  • Play with your Xbox Wireless Controller on Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and tablets.
  • Use it with PC games, and Xbox One games streamed to Windows 10.
  • Simply bind the Adapter to your Wireless Controller to enable the same gaming experience you are used to on Xbox One, including in-game chat and high quality stereo audio.
  • Extend the USB connection to your Windows 10 PC, laptop, or tablet to enhance placement and accessibility to the Wireless Adapter with the included USB extender cable.

The wireless adapter will only work for the Xbox One Wireless Controller on PCs and tablets running Windows 10 through USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 connections. It will include the wireless adapter and a USB extender cable.

Will you be picking up a wireless adapter when it’s available? Let us know in the comments below, or on Google+, Twitter, or Facebook.
