There was a leak recently about the possibility of a magnetic charger made by Apple for their smartwatch, the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch magnetic charging dock was already being sold at some Apple stores, but not sold online for those who aren’t near the genius bar or went to a location that didn’t have the dock. Today, Apple has started selling the charging dock online for a retail price of $79.00USD. If you do want to pick it up in all stores, you’ll have to wait until November 20th, but there’s also the option of having it shipped. I chose my zip code to see how long it would take and if I bought it, I would receive it on Monday, November 23rd with free shipping. Shipping dates can be different for each zip code. If you need it sooner than that you will have the option of next day shipping and next day shipping before noon. That will cost you more out of pocket.
The design of the dock is pretty cool if I must say so myself. It’s a circular pad and in the middle is the piece that charges the watch. You have the option of either lying the watch flat or have it standing upright. Standing the watch upright is neat as Nightstand mode from WatchOS 2 kicks in. Wish I had a dock that provided me with both of those options for my Moto 360. Every version of the Apple Watch is compatible with the dock. In the box you’ll get the magnetic charging dock of course and an extremely long lighting cable that plugs into the dock itself. What’s missing is a power block, so if you have an extra lying around the house somewhere, you’ll need to use it. The dock does only come in white, but hopefully Apple adds in other colors.
The video down below is in German, but shows you what the charging dock looks like and how it’s used.
If you own any Apple Watch version, do you plan on picking up the charging dock that has been missing in your life? If so, let us know by leaving your comments down below, or on Google+, Facebook, or Twitter.Source: Apple Insider
