As you can see, data breaches have been increasing in number over the years. Even companies like LastPass and Apple, whom most people feel are secure, are not immune. Hackers and thieves are actively trying to pick apart the security of nearly every institution in the world. Governments aren’t immune, the U.S. Postal Service was hacked last year which resulted in employee data being lost.
The Democratic National Committee was also hacked into, resulting in data collected on Donald Trump being released. But even those companies who we entrust with some of our most sensitive data have been breached. Apple and the whole drama over celebrity photos being leaked. Even Google’s YouTube was recently hacked and a major YouTube channel was temporarily defaced.
Twitter and LinkedIn have also had their share of hackers as has Facebook and even Mark Zuckerberg. The world of hacking and data breaches isn’t going away anytime soon and we suspect that this infographic will be a regularly updated source as new hacks come in daily. Some systems are harder than others to get into but they’re only as strong as the determination of the hacker.
