Omni-Wearable sunglasses have an integrated action camera

These days just about everyone is taking pictures and video of their entire life. The smartphone, action camera, and social media are all tools that help people document and share their life events. While the tools we’re using are all great, there are times they’re just not as simple as some would like. The Omni-Wearable sunglasses aim to make recording video on the fly much easier. The company is doing this by integrating an action camera into a pair of sunglasses which only requires a simple flip to operate.

Admittedly, the Omni-Wearable sunglasses are probably not the solution for everyone, but there could be a market for the ease of use of this device. Not having to do any setup of an action camera or holding of a smartphone is kind of nice. It would be nice to have 4K video recording included and not just 1080p but I’m sure a second generation product will come soon after this first generation.

One of the nicer things about this particular setup is the perspective in which it shoots. Since it’s right in your line of sight, it records pretty much the perspective you’re looking at. While there are mounts for GoPro’s to capture this perspective, I think the Omni-Wearable is closer to first-person.

The Omni-Wearable sunglasses are currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter and are up to $30,000USD of their $50,000USD goal with 10 days to go. You can get in on the early bird for $199USD. That price tag is a bit questionable, given the 1080p only shooting but there are advantages to this setup versus other action cameras and smartphones.
