MELLA wants to help your kids stay in bed so you can sleep longer

As a father of five kids, I know all too well about 5 a.m. wake-up calls. There isn’t a week that goes by where my wife and I aren’t waking up before the rooster crows. Our kids aren’t unusual as millions of parents struggle with this problem. While there are legitimate reasons for kids getting out of bed like nightmares, illness, and bedwetting, most of the time it’s simply that toddlers and small children are in need of a bit of sleep training.

The MELLA All-In-One Clock wants to help parents accomplish this sleep training. The MELLA clock looks pretty interesting and while it’s not completely unique it does offer some different features. My wife and I have used three different similar products all of which have lasted no more than a few months. We’ve yet to find a children’s sleep training clock that is robust enough to last a few years. Perhaps MELLA is that clock?

Studies show that children do not fully understand the concept of time until around 8 years old. MELLA uses colors and facial expressions to teach your kid when it’s time for bed and when it’s okay to wake up. With MELLA, your kid can learn to stay in bed longer, giving you more sleep! Pretty awesome.

Set the desired sleep time and every night, MELLA will go to sleep with your kid. MELLA sleeps through the night so your kid knows to stay in bed.

Good things come to those who wait! Half an hour before the wake time, MELLA will display a playful expression and glow a yellow light. Teach your kid to play quietly and wait patiently until the light turns green!

We spent months studying the most popular sleep trainers on the market. Some clocks didn’t have nearly enough features to justify their price. Others had feature overload with buttons and programs parents can’t keep track of. Some had nonsensical design choices (i.e. blue light as the only night light color option – read HERE why blue light is detrimental to sleep health).
