Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt adds Alexa support

Schlage has been adding smarts to their locks for the last few years. Adding smarts onto their tradition of quality locks has given new life and functionality to the standard deadbolt. After announcing Android support for the Schlage Sense back in August, today the Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt will be adding support for Amazon’s Alexa digital assistant.

The new Alexa integration will allow users to add the Schlage Sense skill to their Echo hardware, and check the status of their door as well as lock or unlock the deadbolt with their voice. Users can also create multi-step routines that let other smart devices interact with one another. For example, a “good night” routine might turn off the lights, lock the deadbolt, and adjust the thermostat, or any other compatible skills and hardware combinations.

Alexa support should be rolling out now, so if you’ve already got a Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt of your own, be sure to check for that update.
