Amazon has made their Echo units do some pretty amazing things over the years, but nothing like this as this is the first time that a gaming company has made their own Alexa skill. With this Alexa Ghost skill, you can get even more assistance while you’re playing Destiny 2 like the Destiny companion application you can get on Android and iOS.

The skill is already downloadable to the Alexa app and, once enabled, the trigger phrase is “Alexa, ask Ghost to…” and you go from there. You can ask Ghost to equip your most powerful weapon, by saying “Alexa, ask Ghost to equip my most powerful weapon,” or “Alexa, ask Ghost about Cayde-6” and Nolan North (voice of Ghost) will respond back. There are more questions you can ask, so feel free to ask away to your heart’s content.

Other features this companion can do include letting you know more about Destiny 2‘s backstory and characters, keep track of your clan’s progress and see who’s online to join you in battle, plan out your next destination with a variety of game modes, and manage your weapons.

CEO Eric Hirshberg of Activision was excited to share his insight into the Destiny 2 Ghost/Alexa companion:

The Ghost serves as your guide and companion in Destiny 2 the game, and now players will be able to bring that experience into the real world with them through Alexa. The Destiny 2 Ghost skill is the first of its kind and the most innovative and immersive gaming experience to date on Alexa. We’re excited to give our community of players, who are among the most-dedicated fans in the world, new ways to play Destiny 2 with the Ghost skill and Limited-Edition Destiny 2 Ghost. The lines between in-game and out-of-game have been blurred in an incredible new way.

Amazon is even releasing a Limited Edition Ghost shaped Alexa speaker to make it even more realistic as if you’re really talking to your Ghost from Destiny. Pricing on the Ghost is $89.99USD and will be released on December 19th.  On the release of a physical Ghost model, CEO of Bungie Pete Parsons had this to say:

Destiny 2 players being able to interact with a physical Ghost paired with an Amazon Alexa is just a really fun and unique idea. With our partners at Activision, it’s been exciting to develop this project into a rich, useful skill worthy of Amazon’s Alexa.
