There have been further reports lately with more details about Apple adding two new devices to the iPhone X lineup on top of the acclaimed iPhone X last came out last year. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst from KGI Securities is shining some further light on the 2018 line up bearing the iPhone X name following last year’s rumors. Other than the next generation of the iPhone X at 5.8-inches, rumors are that it will be joined with a 6.1-inch iPhone X SE and a 6.3-inch iPhone X Plus.
Ming-Chi reports that all three of these newer iPhone X’s will have bigger batteries, but there will be some options missing from the iPhone X SE device. The 2018 iPhone X will come with a 2800mAh battery, versus the 2715mAh from last year. As for the iPhone X Plus, it will come with a 3300 or 2400mAh beefy battery, while the iPhone X SE will have a 2950mAh battery. More details on the iPhone X SE is that it won’t be coming with the “L” shaped battery like the current iPhone X has and it will be an LCD display instead of an OLED display, not have the dual camera set up, and will apparently lose the 3D Touch technology.
Pricing on this year’s iPhone X would seem lower than what it was previously because of the iPhone X Plus possibly releasing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. Kuo is claiming that the iPhone X will still have a $1,000USD price point with the iPhone X Plus being higher, most likely around the $1,200 to $1,350 range. That’s a huge jump in price just for a larger screen with what may have the same features as the iPhone X. As for the SE version, it should be comparable in price to what the iPhone 8 is, starting around $700.
