If you’ve been keeping track of any Xiaomi Mi8 news, you’re probably curious as to what other news there is about this upcoming device. Well, there has a been a leak of the retail box of the Mi8 and it confirms the device will house the Snapdragon 845 SoC, dual camera, and dual GPS.
Not only will the Mi8 house the Snapdragon 845 SoC but it will also sport 6 to 8GB of RAM with 64/128GB of internal storage. As mentioned above, the phone will be coming with dual GPS sensors. We’re not exactly clear as to why a phone would need more than one GPS sensor inside, so we’ll have to wait for Xiaomi’s official announcement.
Also from the leaked images and specs, the handset will come with the (in)famous notch that almost every Android device is adopting this year. The rear-facing shooter will be a dual-camera setup with one of the sensors clocking in at 20MP. There is no confirmation as to the sensor size of the 2nd lens, feel free to speculate in the comments below. USB Type-C charging is included, but no headphone jack. With the omission of the 3.5mm headphone jack, you’ll likely get a USB-C to AUX adapter included in the box.
The official announcement for the Xiaomi Mi8 is on May 31st, which is coming up shortly. Even with the retail box showing up and possibly confirming everything we know about the device, it’s still best to take this information with a grain of salt.
