Samsung made several big announcements today. The Galaxy Note9, the Galaxy Watch, and the soon to come Galaxy Home. But they also teamed up with Epic Games to announce that Fortnite beta for Android will be available for Galaxy users first. If you’re not familiar with Fortnite, then you’re probably not a gamer or don’t game much. The game has taken the world by storm and its users are ready for the Android mobile version as iOS users have been able to play for a few months already. The Android beta version is now available — for Galaxy device owners first.

WHAT: For the next few days, owners of Galaxy devices will have first access to Fortnite beta on Android before it’s more widely available.

WHO: Galaxy owners with Galaxy Note9, Galaxy S9/+, Galaxy Note8, Galaxy S8/+, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Tab S4, Galaxy Tab S3.

WHEN: Advance access starts today, August 9.

WHERE: Galaxy users can find Fortnite and install in Samsung Game Launcher app.

HOW: Galaxy owners with the devices listed above can start playing now.

All Galaxy Note 9 and Tab S4 users will receive a unique Fortnite Galaxy skin.

There’s a special offer available for consumers in the U.S. who pre-order Galaxy Note9 between August 10 and August 23, 2018. Consumers can choose either 15,000 V-bucks with the Fortnite Galaxy skin or a pair of AKG noise-cancelling headphones — or get both for just $99USD.

Epic Games likely gave Samsung exclusive first crack due to the high visibility of the Unpacked event. Nothing like getting a few hundred-thousand eyeballs on your product. It’s also a benefit for Samsung in selling its latest device as a gaming capable machine when new “gaming phones” are hitting the market. We sure hope you Galaxy owners enjoy the beta of Fortnite!

From the looks of it, this is a very limited time early beta access as Samsung states “for the next few days,” so if you have another Android device, the beta will hopefully be coming soon to more devices.
