Razer is widely known for their Razer Blade gaming laptops and gaming peripherals. The company has announced they are expanding their horizons with the Razer Raptor gaming monitor.

“Razer has worked alongside partners in the past to bring the Razer experience to monitors, but the full potential was never fully realized. We have decided to tackle this space on our own and are very excited to expand our presence to include desktop displays.”

Razer Co-Founder and CEO Min-Liang Tan

Although only an early-design-phase model was unveiled at CES, Razer is planning on releasing the Razer Raptor later this year. The final product will sport a 27″ WQHD (2560×1440) resolution display, support AMD FreeSync with 1ms Motion Blur reduction and refresh rates up to 144Hz. The gaming monitor will also support HDR and will display 95% DCI-P3 wide color gamut.

With an HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C PD, and a pair of USB-A 3.1 ports, the Razer Raptor not only offers a variety of input options but also the option to charge lower wattage devices through the USB-C port. Picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture features also offer multiple systems to be connected at once. In addition, the CNC milled channels in the back of the stand allow easy and hidden cable management with the included Razer cables.
