Razer is well known for its gaming laptops, peripherals, and gaming headsets. That line received a new model today: the Kraken X ultra lightweight gaming headset with 7.1 surround sound.

“The Kraken X is great for any gamer. It’s ultra-light and incredibly comfortable, so you can game for hours with it. It is the companion of choice for domination and immersion in your game with 7.1 surround sound.”

Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Peripherals at Razer

The redesigned gaming headset weighs just 250 grams (0.55 lbs) and is one of the lights gaming headsets on the market. With an adjustable headband, memory foam ear cushions, and glasses-friendly eyewear channels, the Kraken X aims to provide optimal comfort during long gaming sessions.

Of course, sound is just as important as comfort and, as mentioned above, the Kraken X features 7.1 surround sound audio on Windows 10. Not only that, Razer announced that all its upcoming sub-$100 over-the-ear headphones for 2019 will feature 7.1 surround sound. For their more expensive Kraken Tournament Edition and Nari headsets, THX Spatial Audio will be the surround sound technology included.
